- Install landscape lighting and hardscapes such as walkways, retaining walls and patios
- Plant a Dwarf Conifer or Holly for a supply of holiday foliage…even in the smallest of landscapes
- Fertilize! This is the most important feeding of the year
- Continue to monitor for wet weather diseases such as Red Thread and Fusarium
January
- Great time to install patios, retaining walls and water features
- Plan for your garden in the spring
- Work with a professional to get a new landscape design
February
- Order seeds for spring
- Plant peas and lettuce
- Prune roses, fruit trees, grapes
- Cut dormant stems from spring flowering shrubs (Forsythia, Cherry, Flowering Qhince) to force for an early bouquet
- Add lime to adjust pH level of soil
- Control moss with Iron Sulfate
