Backflow Testing

Oregon Law requires that a Public Water System, where any portion of the system’s water use is for or becomes considered non-potable, must have a Backflow Prevention Device installed and tested annually. The purpose is to prevent any cross connection or cross contamination. There is a myriad of uses that are classified as non-potable (non-drinkable). It could be industrial or commercial use, hospitals, medical or dental offices, schools, and even pop machines. All irrigation systems or uses that might allow fertilizers or ground water to inadvertently enter the system would be required to have and maintain proper backflow protection.

Stutzman Services tests thousands of devices annually as required by Oregon Law and administered by the State Health Division. Stutzman Services provides a hassle-free service which includes testing and submitting the required documentation to the proper authority. In addition, Stutzman Services helps you maximize the ownership of an underground sprinkler system so that you can enjoy a lush, green landscape.

We do this by providing an Irrigation Maintenance Program (IMP) to simplify your life. This program includes:

  1. Annual backflow test
  2. Irrigation system start up in the spring
  3. Irrigation system winterization and shut down in the fall
